A major manufacturing plant with thousands of workers is running smoothly, machines humming in unison. Suddenly, the company’s data center crashes. Within minutes, production lines stall, orders stop, and millions are at risk of being lost.

This is the nightmare every large organization dreads. A single glitch can bring every department/production/progress to a halt.

While companies can afford to wait for a new laptop or printer, they cannot afford downtime in data centers. These high-stakes moments are where eOrbitor, a South wIndia–based IT services company, comes into play.

Founded in December 2019 by young visionary entrepreneur Lokeswaran Kannan, eOrbitor has built a reputation as a system integrator that keeps India’s digital backbone running, right from cables to cloud.

What is eOrbitor and Why Does It Matter?

To put it simply, eOrbitor is like a doctor for large enterprises, where technology meets companies’ technology needs. While most of us think of IT in terms of software apps or laptops, enterprises need much more. They rely on a wider range of technologies to keep their operations running efficiently.

First, end-user computing plays a crucial role — laptops, desktops, printers, and workstations are used daily by employees to perform essential tasks and maintain productivity.

Behind the scenes, servers and storage systems power the organization’s data infrastructure. These massive machines store, process, and manage company information, ensuring seamless access and high performance.

To keep everything connected and secure, networking devices such as switches, firewalls, and CCTV systems form the backbone of communication and safety across the organization.

Equally important are cybersecurity solutions, which protect the company’s digital assets — from blocking hackers and malware to preventing data breaches and leaks.

Finally, cloud services enable flexibility and scalability by allowing businesses to operate efficiently on platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, supporting remote work, collaboration, and innovation.

But unlike vendors who just “sell a box” and leave, eOrbitor focuses on services and solutions. When a complex data center fails, eOrbitor quickly restores operations in no time.

“A customer may buy a laptop once in three years, but our services keep their systems running every day. That’s why our relationships aren’t transactional, they’re long-term partnerships,” said Lokeswaran Kannan, the 54-year-old entrepreneur from Chennai, in an exclusive interview with Startup Pedia.

This philosophy has helped the Chennai-based IT services company build long-term trust with some of India’s biggest names — Gujarat Metro Rail, Hyderabad Police Command Center, Malabar Gold, Ashok Leyland, Zoho, and more.

It All Started with Just ₹1 Lakh

The story of eOrbitor began with a bold decision. After spending nearly three decades in the IT industry, including over a decade as P&L Head for South India at a global company, Chennai entrepreneur Lokeswaran Kannan shocked everyone by quitting at the age of 48.
At the time, he was earning a six-digit salary per month, a stable income in a Japanese multinational.

While he was sure about leaving behind a stable career, he was also jumping onto the roller coaster of entrepreneurship.

“I had fulfilled all my responsibilities — built a house for my family, educated my child. It seemed the most optimal time to pursue what I had been dreaming of for years,” said the Chennai founder of eOrbitor in the Startup Pedia conversation.

The Chennai-based entrepreneur had clarity. With ₹1 lakh in hand, a table, a chair, and a fan, he founded eOrbitor on 12th December 2019.

Barely 40 days later, the world went into a global COVID-19 lockdown. Even large 20-year-old IT companies shut down, unable to survive. But this Chennai IT services company stepped into a niche area — data center maintenance services.

That decision was a game-changer. Within a few months, the company secured multiple maintenance contracts worth ₹1.8 crore, all managed remotely from home, proving its value in keeping essential IT systems running during the pandemic.

The very first order, however, was much smaller — a ₹14,000 firewall support contract. Lokeswaran Kannan still remembers the mixed reactions he received. Some old contacts trusted him immediately, while others even blocked his number, unsure if his new company would survive. A year later, many of those same skeptics came back, eager to work with him.

Scaling from Small Orders to Crore-Level Deals

From that first ₹14,000 order, eOrbitor now executes deals worth ₹2–3 crore every bimonthly. Over the years, eOrbitor has built a strong portfolio of clients across industries, ranging from public sector projects to leading private enterprises:

For Gujarat Metro Rail, it provided advanced firewalls and ongoing technical support to ensure seamless and secure operations. The Hyderabad Police Command Center relies on its expertise to manage over 18,000 surveillance cameras, enhancing city-wide security and monitoring.

In the Nagpur Smart City Project, the company delivered critical IT infrastructure support to power the city’s digital transformation. It also works with Ashok Leyland, one of India’s largest automakers, ensuring smooth technological operations across its manufacturing and business systems.

For Malabar Gold, the company supports their end-user computing requirements across their showrooms nationwide, ensuring reliability and performance. They work with Zoho on a 360-degree model — selling all Zoho products and services, supporting Zoho's internal IT requirements across more than 14 IT products, and regularly performing NVMe disk upgrades at the Zoho data center.

In just five years, the Chennai-based IT company has grown from three employees — Lokeswaran Kannan included — to 50+ employees, with offices across India in Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Delhi, and a presence in 11 Indian metros.

Financial Growth: From ₹1 Lakh to ₹30 Crore

eOrbitor’s financial growth has been nothing short of remarkable. From a one-lakh investment company to a ₹30 crore turnover company within six years has been a mind-blowing number, driven purely by his hard work and strategic decision-making.

Even more impressive, the company has built credibility with its bankers for a ₹5 crore unsecured overdraft. For an MSME, getting such credit without secured property or mortgage is very rare. Banks granted it purely on the financial and business strength of eOrbitor.

Lokeswaran Kannan is quick to attribute this to his strict financial discipline. Payments to vendors are made on time, employees receive their salaries on the 1st of every month, and all statutory compliances are met with no compromise.

“Financial discipline is possible for me because I don’t entertain clients who don’t pay on time and as committed. If you don’t receive your payments on time, you can’t pay your team and vendors on time,” said the 54-year-old Chennai entrepreneur in the Startup Pedia conversation.

Talking about how he grew from the ₹14,000 first order to ₹15 crore+ revenue, he said that he focused more on automating and implementing systems in his business.

“While I have good connections in the industry as I’ve been involved in business here for decades, I focused on creating a process and system that keeps things automated — from HR departments to sales and execution,” the Chennai IT founder added.

Expanding Beyond India

In February 2025, eOrbitor took its biggest leap — going international. The company launched eOrbitor LLC in Sharjah, with offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and an engineer based in Qatar.

This expansion was motivated and driven by demand from existing Indian multinational clients who also had their operations in the Middle East. “Customers kept telling us, why don’t you set up here too? We need your support,” Kannan explained during his exclusive interview with Startup Pedia.

Today, eOrbitor officially calls itself a global company, with a roadmap to expand further across the Middle East and North Africa in the coming years.

A Culture Built on Trust and People

Unlike many startups that push employees to work long hours, eOrbitor began with two bold policies: a five-day work week and salaries paid on the 1st of every month.

“People laughed at me. They said, first succeed, then think about policies. But I believe if my employees are happy, they’ll make the company successful,” the Chennai-based founder shared with Startup Pedia.

In addition, the company also provides cashless health insurance worth ₹2 lakh for every employee, in addition to PF and ESI.

For Lokeswaran Kannan, success isn’t about luxury cars or big bungalows. “My focus is on how many families we can support. Each employee’s salary feeds an entire family. That’s what success means to me,” concluded Lokeswaran Kannan, the Chennai entrepreneur and founder of eOrbitor.
