Chennai-based EV startup Raptee.HV launched India’s first high-voltage Electric Motorcycle T 30 compatible with Car charging stations. This innovative technology allows the motorcycle to compete with traditional 250-300 cc ICE counterparts while producing significantly less heat.

The Technology

One of the distinguishing features of the motorcycle is its compatibility with universal charging standards used by electric cars. With an onboard charger, the motorcycle can seamlessly connect to the 13,500 CCS2 car charging stations available across the country. This number is expected to double within the coming year.

The motorcycle can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in under 3.5 seconds, providing a thrilling riding experience.

Pricing

Priced competitively at ₹2.39 lakhs, the Raptee.HV Electric Motorcycle T 30 offers a cost-effective alternative to traditional ICE motorcycles.

Raptee.HV prioritizes quality and safety, evident in the motorcycle's IP67-rated battery pack that adheres to all regulatory requirements. The company offers a battery warranty of 8 years or up to 80,000 kilometers, mirroring the warranty standards of electric cars.

It features in-house developed electronics that power the HV technology. Its custom Operating System, based on an automotive-grade Linux platform, ensures a highly responsive and intuitive user experience.

Availability and Expansion

Raptee.HV will begin deliveries in Chennai and Bangalore starting January, with plans to expand to other key cities in the future. The company's Factory-integrated Experience centre, the "Tech store.HV," located at the HQ in Chennai, will offer immersive experiences, including factory tours to showcase the motorcycle production process.

Raptee.HV will offer a wide range of direct-to-consumer offerings alongside the traditional Brick & Mortar model.

The Indian electric motorcycle startup was founded in 2019 by Dinesh Arjun, Co-Founder and CEO (Ex-Tesla), along with three other co-founders, with a mission to accelerate the transition to electric mobility.

Official Statements at the Press Meet

At the Press meet, Dinesh Arjun, Co-founder & CEO of Raptee.HV remarked, “Launching India’s first high-voltage electric motorcycle was a technical challenge from the very beginning. Over the last 5 years, the amazing team at Raptee has had to build the entire architecture from scratch to make HV on 2Wheelers possible. That we have succeeded is a testament to what can be achieved with the right vision and a focus on innovation.”

Jayapradeep Vasudevan, CBO at Raptee.HV said, “The Indian motorcycle market is twice the size of the scooter market, and the low EV penetration in this larger segment presents a huge opportunity for us to explore, starting with our flagship model, the T30. As a team, we are fully committed to building the Raptee.HV brand by delivering a customer experience that matches the high standards of our motorcycles. In today’s context, automobiles, especially electric vehicles, are increasingly becoming electronics and software-driven, much like consumer durable products.”
