“Every child is an artist. The problem is to remain an artist once they grow up.”

These words by the famous Spanish painter and sculptor Pablo Picasso perfectly apply to Ghaziabad-based 14-year-old Jaiwardhan Tyagi, who recently appeared on Shark Tank India, where he secured Rs 60 lakh in funding for 5% equity from boAt co-founder Aman Gupta for his neurological and dermatological healthcare AI venture, Neurapex AI.

Jaiwardhan’s innovation arrives at a critical moment for global healthcare, as skin and subcutaneous diseases currently affect 30% of individuals worldwide.

However, because specialised dermatologists are in short supply, patients often rely on primary care doctors, whose diagnostic accuracy for skin conditions ranges from just 24% to 70%.

This significant gap frequently leads to misdiagnoses or delayed care.

By building a solution to address this challenge, Jaiwardhan is tapping into the rapidly expanding AI skin analysis market, valued at approximately $2.15 billion in 2025 and projected to surpass $4.30 billion by 2029.

AI diagnostic accuracy often matches or even exceeds that of board-certified dermatologists.

More importantly, equipping primary care doctors with AI-powered support tools increases their diagnostic accuracy by 10% to 12%, helping democratise expert-level care for the masses.

Jaiwardhan is not only balancing school but also channelling his curiosity into building tech-driven solutions that address real-world challenges, reflecting a rare blend of creativity, scientific thinking, and entrepreneurial spirit at such a young age.

Before developing Neurapex, his earlier innovations included an AI security camera, NSFW blocker software, hand grippers, and small-scale games.

Having described himself as a ‘selective introvert,' self-taught tech innovator Jaiwardhan prefers utilising his time to build and learn rather than engaging in typical teenage socialising.

Currently studying in Class IX in Ghaziabad, he possesses a deep intellectual curiosity, heavily influenced by philosophies such as Nietzsche, Stoicism, Existentialism, and Hindu scriptures.

Jaiwardhan’s father, Dr Anil Kumar, is a mathematics professor and Dean of Basic Sciences at HRIT University, Ghaziabad, while his mother, Sangeeta Tyagi, is a homemaker.

Before starting Neurapex, driven by his interest, Jaiwardhan had already built several impressive tech projects on his own

In 2024, he began exploring technology. Inspired by his father, he developed a strong interest in mathematics, coding, robotics, and Artificial Intelligence.

He taught himself through online tutorials and experiments and started building real, working solutions.

One of his early projects was an AI-powered security camera built using a small ESP32-CAM chip.

The smart CCTV system, based on motion detection, could detect guns, fire, people, and cars in real time without relying heavily on internet connectivity, making it capable of identifying potential threats instantly.

He invested around Rs 5,000 of his own pocket money into the project and also received a government grant of over Rs 10,000 to support its development.

In the same year, when his school allowed laptops in classrooms and parents were concerned about students accessing inappropriate content, Jaiwardhan independently created “NSFW Blocker” software without investing a single penny.

The tool used language analysis to detect abusive or inappropriate words and image recognition technology to block vulgar visuals, helping create a safer digital environment for students.

Driven by his interest in trading and finance, he also built an AI finance agent in 2024, which could answer company-related financial questions and simplify financial data for better understanding.

However, as he became eager to explore bigger and more impactful ideas, he decided to step away from these smaller projects and focus his full energy on building something larger, which eventually led to the creation of Neurapex.

Initial Motivation to Start Neurapex AI and Investment

Neurapex AI actually began as a simple project out of curiosity. In late 2024, Jaiwardhan wanted to build an AI model that could detect Alzheimer’s disease from MRI scans. At first, he only saw it as a project that would look good on his resume.

But the first version failed badly. The AI’s accuracy was very low. Instead of giving up, he became determined to understand why it didn’t work well.

He realised that most medical AI tools only point out a problem in a scan but don’t properly explain it. Because of this, they can make mistakes or miss important details.

So he decided to improve the system. He worked on building an extra reasoning layer in the AI.

This meant the tool would not just highlight a possible issue in a medical image, but also organise the findings and generate a clearer, more reliable report.

Building AI tools requires powerful computing systems, which are expensive and not easy for a school student to afford.

To run his AI models, Jaiwardhan purchased domain names and other basic development resources, but instead of buying physical hardware, he relied on rented cloud services.

"I didn't present this idea to anyone until it was made. Problems are just part of the whole thing, whether it's technical issues or not getting enough sleep, it’s about the persistence to overcome them," Neurapex AI founder tells Startup Pedia in an exclusive interview.

He used DigitalOcean for frontend deployment, ensuring the platform was reliably hosted and accessible, while handling other infrastructure components separately.

For heavy AI model training and processing, he rented a cloud GPU server through platforms like RunPod.

These GPU servers are high-performance remote machines designed specifically for AI workloads. Together, this setup costs him around USD 120 per month, funded by his parents.

Then came his big moment on Shark Tank India. Just a month before his pitch, Jaiwardhan upgraded Neurapex by improving its image analysis system and training it on over 1.5 lakh images.

When it comes to challenges, he has struggled to balance school and his entrepreneurial journey. Because of his busy schedule of building and innovating products, he sleeps very little, which has led to fatigue and exhaustion.

At times, he has even had to return home from school during the second half of the day due to exhaustion.

Although his appearance on Shark Tank India has earned him greater respect from his teachers and friends, his parents remain concerned about his health and overall well-being.

About Neurapex AI

Neurapex AI is built to become the first step in healthcare guidance for everyday people in India.

The main idea is simple: when someone notices a health problem, instead of randomly searching on Google or asking friends for advice, they can use Neurapex to get a more structured and reliable understanding of what might be wrong.

It is not just a basic image-checking app. The system is designed to carefully study medical images and then properly explain the findings in a clear and organised way.

Even if the image-reading system misses something, the reasoning engine steps in to double-check and structure the report.

It is aware of all possible nuances and is designed to reason rigorously, augmented with medicinal excerpts, making the overall output more dependable and clinically grounded.

"The core design philosophy is to provide the first layer of healthcare intelligence. We are giving people a structured way to analyse their problems so they can stop relying on random Google searches or family advice," Ghaziabad-based young entrepreneur says.

How Neurapex AI Works?

Neurapex currently works through two main systems.

The first one is called DeepDerm, which focuses on skin problems and is already live.

If someone has a skin issue, they first describe their symptoms by speaking and answering a few simple questions, and then they upload a photo of the affected skin area.

Instead of giving a basic answer like red bumps, the system prepares a detailed medical-style report. It looks at things like whether there is swelling, pus, raised spots, or clusters, and explains the condition more clearly. The user can download this report.

If the issue looks serious, the system suggests seeing a doctor. It then searches for dermatologists in the user’s city, matches doctors based on the specific condition, and shows details like consultation fees, ratings, and booking links through platforms like Practo. This makes it easier for the user to choose and contact the right doctor.

The second system is called AlzMind, which focuses on brain scans and other internal medical images. This system is currently being upgraded.

Here, users can upload MRI scans (including detailed 3D scans) or even X-rays, such as chest or bone scans.

The system studies the images, compares patterns in brain tissue or bones, and checks for possible diseases or abnormalities.

It then converts the complex medical scan into a clear, structured explanation so the user can better understand what the report means.

“With DeepDerm, the AI looks for clinical markers to generate a report that a doctor can actually use. It’s about turning a vague photo into a structured medical insight that connects you to the right specialist instantly," Jaiwardhan tells Startup Pedia.

Neurapex AI vs General AI Chatbots and LLMs

When asked that since people are already using advanced AI tools and LLMs to diagnose their healthcare problems, what makes his offering different from these existing platforms.

In response, he explained that general AI tools are trained on broad and diverse datasets, whereas his model is highly specialised and trained on a dataset of over 1.5 lakh skin images paired specifically with medical texts. This makes his system a domain expert rather than a general-purpose AI.

When asked about the difference between his system and general AI tools, Jaiwardhan explained that most general AI chatbots tend to provide surface-level observations based on images, offering broad and non-clinical descriptions.

In contrast, Neurapex analyses images using precise clinical terminology. Instead of giving a generic description, it identifies specific medical features, describes their characteristics in detail, and presents the findings in structured, medically relevant language designed to support more accurate assessment.

Hyper-Targeted Doctor Recommendations by Neurapex AI

Jaiwardhan explained that most people today depend on random Google searches when they have a health issue.

They either try to diagnose themselves online or simply search for a doctor without fully understanding their condition.

The problem with Google is simple. If you type ‘dermatologist near me’, it shows a general list of doctors based mostly on location and website ranking. It does not consider your exact skin problem or how serious it might be.

Neurapex works differently. First, it studies your skin condition and creates a detailed medical-style report.

Then, instead of just showing nearby doctors, it uses that report to match you with a dermatologist who has experience treating your specific condition.

It also filters doctors based on your city and location.

“We want to end the era of 'blind' healthcare searches. Instead of just giving you a general list of doctors, Neurapex analyses the nuances of your condition first, ensuring that when we suggest a specialist, it’s a match based on medical necessity, not just website rankings," he says

Business Model, Current Revenue, and Impact of Shark Tank India Episode on Growth

When asked directly about how Neurapex AI makes money and what the underlying business model is, Jaiwardhan was completely transparent about the startup's current stage.

Currently, the venture does not generate any revenue. The platform is entirely free for users to access and utilise for their diagnostic reports and doctor recommendations.

Despite having no marketing budget or advertising campaigns, the platform has grown purely organically.

Just a day after his episode aired on Shark Tank India, someone very close to him passed away, a loss that deeply affected him and reshaped his perspective on his work.

“Just a day after my episode on Shark Tank India aired, I lost someone very close to me. Over the last year, I’ve faced deep existential questions because of such losses. It makes you realise why building something meaningful for healthcare truly matters,” Jaiwardhan tells Startup Pedia.

After Jaiwardhan Tyagi appeared on Shark Tank India in January 2026, his website traffic increased sharply, receiving around 14,000 total clicks within just one month.

So far, he has received approximately 2,300 user sign-ups and around 3,000 demo requests, showing strong and growing interest in the platform.

Looking Forward

Jaiwardhan plans to expand AlzMind, the part of the platform that studies brain scans. In the future, he wants it to handle not just MRIs but many types of medical scans related to the brain and spine.

His goal is to make it smart enough to provide insights similar to those of a specialist doctor.

Another important goal for him is to make the AI more explainable, ensuring users can clearly understand how it works, how decisions are made, and why specific outputs are generated.

Many AI tools work like a “black box,” meaning they give an answer but don’t explain how they reached it. Jaiwardhan wants his system to show why it made a certain decision clearly.

He also intends to partner with diagnostic labs and hospitals to provide them with high-quality patient leads and automated reporting tools.

"Right now, we are in the awareness stage. We want as many people as possible to use this and give us feedback so we can refine it into a product that truly systemises healthcare," Jaiwardhan concluded.
