Aadit Palicha, CEO of Zepto, recently gave an interview to ET Prime. He mentioned that the media has the power to bring down even the biggest enterprises, but ultimately, the success of any business idea depends on its efficient execution.
Zepto, led by Aadit Palicha, has been performing exceptionally well. Despite the challenging environment for most Indian startups in the past two and a half years, Zepto has managed to raise three substantial rounds of funding totalling 1.26 billion dollars, posing strong competition to heavyweights like Zomato’s Blinkit and Swiggy’s Instamart.
Palicha also discussed the company’s remarkable rise in the Indian startup market, emphasising Zepto’s strategic focus on profitability and efficiency despite scepticism and comparisons to past tech bubbles.
He recently stated to the media that Zepto’s sales could potentially surpass those of offline retail major DMart in the next 18-24 months. He also mentioned that Zepto's revenue could grow to over Rs 2.4 trillion in the next 5-10 years.
Speaking at the seventh JIIF Foundation Day event in New Delhi, Palicha expressed the company's goal to focus on the top 50-75 million households in the country's top 40 cities, which are major contributors to grocery and daily essential purchases.
Palicha estimated the Indian grocery market to be worth $850 billion by FY29, with these households accounting for $400 billion.
