He remarked that in this modern past-faced world, everyone loves speed.
“When I started out in films, I thought back to back releases were the only way to stay relevant,” Shetty wrote. “So I signed most films that came my way.”
However, some of those films did not work as he expected.
“Classic story for us actors in the 90s,” the Bollywood actor said.
The failure taught him a valuable lesson to be picky about good scripts and directors.
“Choosing good scripts, good directors and making braver decisions,” he said.
The actor had learned a similar lesson in his fitness journey the hard way.
Because he was pushing himself harder in his 30s, he started burning out at the gym every single session.
Injuries reminded him that patience is not optional.
Suniel Shetty said, “Rest, recovery, and staying consistent. That’s what keeps you in the game for decades.”
He shared how several ventures expand quickly and then collapse just as fast.
According to Shetty, those ventures that last are those that are built with discipline and consistent efforts.
“The truth is, patience isn’t glamorous,” the actor said. “It feels slow. It feels frustrating. It makes you doubt yourself when you see others racing ahead,” he added.
The Bollywood superstar shared how he had questioned his ability in his youth. He was doubtful if he was doing enough or if time was just slipping away.
He said that the hardest part of patience is not the waiting time, but the fear that comes with it.
“The fear of being left behind. The fear that time is running out.”
The actor warned that patience is not always about standing still, but also about movement.
“Slower, quieter, mostly invisible, until one day it shows,” said Shetty wisely.
“It may take longer than you hoped,” he added. “But the things that come with patience, usually even stay with you longer.”
