Pavel Durov, the Founder and CEO of Telegram, recently revealed on the messaging app that he received the news that he has over "100 biological kids".

"I was just told that I have over 100 biological kids. How is this possible for a guy who has never been married and prefers to live alone?" he wrote on Telegram.

Unmarried Durov shared the backstory of his shocking revelation. He said that about 15 years ago, a friend approached him with a "weird request".

His friend explained that he and his wife couldn't have kids due to a fertility issue. They asked Durov to donate sperm at a clinic for them to have a baby.

Initially, Durov laughed, thinking it was a joke, but then realised his friend was serious.

Later, Durov signed up for sperm donation, and by 2024, his donations had helped over a hundred couples in 12 countries have kids. His frozen sperm is still available for anonymous use by families who want to have kids.

Durov further explained that the boss of the clinic told him that "high-quality donor material" was in short supply and suggested that it was his "civic duty" to donate more sperm to help more couples anonymously.

Durov plans to open-source his DNA so his kids can find each other.

Social Media Reaction:

His post has gone viral with over 1.8 million views. Online users, particularly X users, are showing mixed reactions to Durov's shocking announcement.

One user wrote, "Over 100 biological kids? Are you the Father Abraham we were told?"

Another user commented, "The Telegram CEO has over 100 biological kids Is that bullish or bearish?"

A third user replied, "There is a documentary on Netflix actually about mega donors who are traveling around the world providing as much sperm as possible, both legally at clinics and in the black market to avoid local laws regarding donation maximum, in an effort to spread their genetics as much as possible."
