The accused were allegedly associated with 'The Loni Urban Multistate Credit and Thrift Cooperative Society Limited,' a company that misled rural investors with promises of high returns.
Agents reportedly collected hefty sums from hundreds, assuring investors with false claims that their money would double in a short span.
After collecting crores from unsuspecting rural investors, the company abruptly ceased operations and its representatives disappeared.
In February, an FIR was filed against Talpade and senior actor Alok Nath in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly defrauding investors of over ₹9 crore.
The complaint was lodged at the Gomti Nagar Police Station in Lucknow. Meanwhile, both actors, along with others, were implicated in a multi-level marketing fraud in Sonipat, Haryana.
The Loni Urban Multi-State Credit and Thrift Cooperative Society is under scrutiny for similar scams in other regions.
On the work front, Talpade will be seen in Welcome To The Jungle, which was officially announced in 2023. He will also be seen in Housefull 5, starring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, and others.
