Tomasz Patan, a Polish inventor and founder, has innovated the Airbike.
Science fiction movies have often depicted flying bikes. And if not flying bikes, unbelievable stunts involving flying a bike off a large area.
They're thrilling. They're exciting. And now…it seems like they will be real.
A Polish inventor and founder of Volonaut, Tomasz Patan, has invented the Volonaut Airbike, a personal flying vehicle that looks and functions like a bike.
VOLONAUT’S FLYING MOTORBIKE
Tomasz Patan’s Volonaut has innovated the Airbike as a a single-seat jet-powered hoverbike that reaches speeds up to 200 kilometres per hour.
In a LinkedIn post two months ago, he wrote, “This futuristic vehicle is a realization of a bold concept often portrayed in science fiction movies - a long time inspiration of mine that with time became the obsession.”
“I just needed to materialize it,” he added.
THE SPECIFICATIONS
Terming it the “superbike for the skies,” Volonaut’s website claims that the Airbike can carry one person with speeds up to 200 kilometer per hour.
Automatic hover and control is offered by a proprietary stabilization enhanced by a flight computer.
Airbike provides a 360 degree view to the rider, giving a sense of complete freedom while riding.
Advanced carbon fiber filters and 3D printing methods were used to ensure that Airbike remains 7 times lighter than a normal motorcycle.
The vehicle has a compact design with no spinning propellers. This ensures that it can travel through confined areas as well.
Volonaut’s website notes, “The project has just come out of "stealth" mode after years of development by Polish inventor and entrepreneur Tomasz Patan.”
WHAT IS THE PRICE TAG ON VOLONAUT AIRBIKE
According to a recent LinkedIn post made by Volonaut, the Airbike will be produced in limited numbers.
Its launch price has been set at $880,000.
“Reservations open on August the 1st, exclusively through Volonaut website: volonaut.com,” the post read.
