At the 47th Annual General Meeting in Mumbai, Reliance’s chairman and India’s richest businessman, Mukesh Ambani said that personal or family wealth holds no importance for him. He sees himself, his family, and other senior members of the management as trustees of the institution. Their priority is to pass on the institution to the next generation on a solid foundation for continued success.
“I firmly believe that my family and I, and also other senior members of the management team, are simply trustees of this great institution. Personal or family wealth holds no importance for me,” Ambani said.
He added, “What truly matters for me is our responsibility to pass on this precious institution to the next generation on a solid foundation. This will enable them to elevate Reliance to even greater heights of success.”
The RIL chairman discussed plans to enrich the institutional culture and extend the value system during a period of generational transition. He said there’s a need for capable leaders who are fully committed to the company's philosophy and reported significant progress in these efforts.
In his speech, Ambani highlighted that Reliance is focused on creating long-term value rather than pursuing short-term gains or amassing wealth.
The multi-billionaire owner stated, “We are not in the business of seeking short-term profits and hoarding wealth... we are here to create wealth and energy security for the nation.”
Ambani also made significant announcements and projections for the company, such as Reliance Jio's goal to reach 100 million home broadband customers.
Also, Reliance has introduced the 'Jio AI Cloud Welcome' offer, which provides 100 GB of free cloud storage to Jio customers.
