Nvidia Corp employees, led by CEO Jensen Huang, reportedly face a toxic, high-stress work environment with little time for their high pay.
According to a Bloomberg report, a former technical support employee claimed that working at the California-based company was like being in a "pressure cooker," with a demanding work schedule of seven days a week till 2 am.
At Nvidia meetings, executives are used to yelling, shouting, and fighting, according to a marketing executive who quit in 2022 after enduring the toxic work culture for two years due to the "golden handcuffs." She reportedly attended seven to ten meetings in a single day.
Employees at Nvidia's California unit reported working intense hours, often seven days a week until 2 am. Despite the tough conditions, many stay due to generous compensation packages, claims the New York Post.
Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, has 60 direct reports and requires employees to regularly send emails listing the five things they're working on.
He has said he prefers to "torture" his employees "into greatness" rather than firing them.
Huang, who co-founded Nvidia in 1993, owns about three per cent of the company and has a net worth of $40.7 billion, making him the 17th richest person in America and the 76th richest person in the world according to Forbes.
