This Navratri, Mercedes-Benz India turned heads with record-breaking sales.
Over the nine-day festival, the luxury carmaker sold more than 2,500 vehicles, averaging one car every six minutes.
Mercedes-Benz India’s Record-Breaking Sales
Mercedes-Benz India achieved its best-ever Navratri sales, delivering more than 2,500 cars between September 22 and 30. That’s roughly 270 cars a day, or one every six minutes.
“Between September 22 and 30, there was a huge rally in demand. Every day we sold about 270 cars, nearly 10 to 12 every hour, with an average price of ₹1 crore per car,” said Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India.
Iyer added that the timing of the GST 2.0 reform, which reduced taxes on luxury cars by around 6 percent, played a key role in spurring purchases.
“The reduction in GST rates has certainly improved customer sentiment. This was coupled with offers we rolled out during the quarter,”he said.
India’s Strong Demand for Top-End Models
The surge wasn’t limited to entry-level cars. High-end models like the S-Class, GLS, and AMG variants were also in high demand, with many buyers opting for the Manufaktur customization program.
Flexible financing options helped bring in first-time luxury car buyers, showing that the appetite for premium vehicles is expanding.
Industry experts note that pent-up demand ahead of the GST change, combined with festive buying sentiment, created a perfect storm for Mercedes-Benz’s record sales.
Mercedes-Benz India’s Navratri performance highlights the growing strength of India’s luxury car market. With one car sold every six minutes and an average price of ₹1 crore, the brand has set a new benchmark for festive sales.
With Diwali approaching, the momentum shows no signs of slowing, hinting at another strong quarter for the German automaker.
