What is Talk to Write?

The device is a smart solution to help students, professionals, and those with disabilities.

It works like a digital scribe, writing spoken words line by line on A4 paper through a CNC pen plotter. Powered by Python and GRBL, the device brings together voice tech and robotics to make note-taking easier for all.

“Honoured to Represent Our Project at Ente Keralam Expo 2025!” Ajay H shared on LinkedIn

“I recently had the amazing opportunity to participate in the Ente Keralam Expo 2025 — the vibrant annual celebration of the Government of Kerala, held in Alappuzha,” he added.

About their academic project, Talk to Write, he said: “It is an AI-powered voice-to-pen system that converts spoken words into handwritten text using a CNC pen plotter. Built with Raspberry Pi, Arduino (GRBL), and Python, it is especially designed to help people with disabilities, acting as a digital scribe that writes what you say — line by line on A4 paper.”

Ajay H expressed special gratitude to his incredible team - Aparna Hari, Roobak Hari Nair, and Akash G Nair- for making the innovation possible.

“Couldn’t have done it without you all!” he thanked. “Grateful for this recognition and the chance to share our work with a larger audience.”
