India's 3 Richest Biz Families Together Worth Singapore GDP: Report

India's richest three business families, Ambani, Bajaj, and Kumar Mangalam Birla, are together val over $460 billion, nearly matching Singapore's GDP. 

The 2024 Barclays Private Clients Hurun India Most Valuable Family Businesses report reveals the data. The Adani family, valued at Rs 15.45 lakh crore, is not on the top business families list, as first-generation families have been excluded. 

The report indicates that the Ambani family's net worth is Rs 25.75 lakh crore, the Bajaj family's net worth is Rs 7.13 lakh crore, and the Birla family's net worth is Rs 5.39 lakh crore.

A separate ranking places the Adani family at the top, followed by the Poonawalla family, valued at Rs 2.37 lakh crore.

The report analysed around 200 listed and unlisted companies, with 75 per cent being publicly traded and the rest unlisted. Haldiram Snacks, valued at Rs 63,000 crore, is identified as the most valuable unlisted company.

The top 10 richest Indian families have a combined net worth of around Rs 60.09 lakh crore. They are involved in various sectors, including energy, automobile, auto parts, metals, mining, software, services, chemicals, and petrochemicals).
