Launched on 4th January 2023, the National Green Hydrogen Mission has an outlay of ₹19,744 crore up to FY 2029–30.

Incidentally, MNRE is also in discussions with states to finalise Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for renewable energy. It is working with the Power Ministry and the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) to resolve pending issues.

Chairing a workshop on the National Green Hydrogen Mission and opportunities for MSMEs, Minister Joshi appealed to small businesses to promote decentralised renewable energy integration.

He pointed out that MSMEs could help generate local employment by leveraging their last-mile reach.

India is moving towards its goal of becoming Aatmanirbhar (self-reliant) through clean energy, supporting the global clean energy transition, decarbonising the economy, and reducing dependence on fossil fuel imports.
