Kunal Shah in Raj Shamani podcast
In an interview with popular podcast host Raj Shamani, CRED founder Kunal Shah said that the world is evolving at an extremely fast pace and that no human can adapt to that level.
Shah insisted that in this quickly changing world, founders should do things with integrity for the time and not worry about creating a future impact.
“Life is absolutely fragile,” the fintech entrepreneur said. “Humans keep evolving and moving on.”
He said that with technological advances and AI updates every few days, humans are not evolving at the rate they should.
Shah said he does not take himself seriously. When Shamani asked for the reason, he said, “Whatever you do, in 50, 100 years from now, you will be forgotten.”
However, he admitted that every founder expects their company to exist for hundreds of years. “But the mathematical order of having that is zero,” he added.
Kunal Shah further advised that young founders should focus on what they are doing today—and to do it well, with zest and awareness.
According to him, it is better to let go of the pressure to leave a permanent mark because the probability of that happening is anyway close to zero.
Kunal Shah says humans are not evolving as much as the world
“Can you suggest a teenager today which subjects he should focus on?” Shah asked Shamani, to which the latter admitted he had no idea.
“In today’s fast-evolving world, no one can tell what will work tomorrow,” he added wisely. “We don’t know how to plan for it!”
The CRED founder revealed that he does not take himself seriously because everything is transient.
“If they ban all MBA schools, koi MBA karega kya?” Shah asked, and Shamani smiled. “What if you and I built a company that assures placements?” he further asked Raj Shamani, who said it’s “100%” that they will make more money than the B-schools.
“What I’m trying to say is - Who knows?” Shah remarked. “Our parents did not have to evolve so fast. Grandparents had to evolve much lesser. The world’s rate of change was manageable.”
