'I've never bought a single share in my life': Billionaire Ola CEO

Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal recently said at the Ola Sankalp 2024 event that Ola remains his first love as he reflected on the company's growth and discussed his plans. 

He also revealed the expansion plan of Ola into a diverse group, including Ola Electric and the AI venture Krutrim, expressing his strong attachment to Ola Cabs. Aggarwal positioned Ola Electric as a global player, differentiating it from Tesla, and introduced Ola’s new venture, Krutrim, which focused on building an AI tech stack in India, solving the "data colonialism." by big tech companies like Google.

However, interestingly, the billionaire tech shared an astonishing bit about his wealth. He admitted to never investing in the stock market, attributing his wealth to his companies. He and his wife keep their money in savings accounts and fixed deposits. 

“I’ve never bought a single share in my life,” he said.

Mr Aggarwal also highlighted Ola's ventures in electric vehicles and AI, positioning the company to shape the future of both industries. Ola Electric aims to make India a leader in the electric vehicle market.

When discussing the move to public markets, Bhavish Aggarwal joyously said he embraced the responsibility of managing citizens’ money and the pressure of making cautious decisions.
