Shashank Rustagi, a software engineer from Gurgaon, recently resigned from his position at Dell to launch his startup, ProfileCraft, a professional resume-writing service. Rustagi had been offering resume-writing services as a side gig and decided to pursue it full-time.
Calling Out Jealous Co-workers on X
Following his departure, Rustagi expressed disappointment on social media, stating that none of his former colleagues congratulated him on his new endeavor, attributing their silence to jealousy. In subsequent posts, Rustagi clarified that prior to choosing to make CV writing services his full-time career, he had been doing it as a side gig. Rustagi spent about two years with Dell, according to his LinkedIn bio.

Netizens Reactions
The post sparked mixed reactions online; while some users empathized and shared similar experiences, others criticized him for perceived unprofessionalism.
One user commented, “So not in the same field but where I elevated in my career space, some of my closest friends didn’t congratulate me & stopped talking to me thereafter.” The user also added that after getting married and having a baby, another few co-workers stopped being in touch and obviously didn’t congratulate. “Identify the lot & cut your losses,” said the user.
“Might not be jealous, just indifferent. Today's society makes us more indifferent than being jealous, etc. They just don't care about your achievements; I'm sure they'd be wishing people if they cared about them. Just my take, congrats, and all the best,” added a second user.
Another X user slammed Rustagi for his words and wrote, “Because it's a dumb move to leave your SDE job in this economy? Really? It's not even been a day, and you're already badmouthing your colleagues.”
The user added that it showed what kind of person Rustagi is. The user further said, “You had an argument with your boss, and now you're putting on this facade as part of some ego trip.”
A fourth user added, "This also speaks volumes about culture; does someone deserve to be promoted if there is such a strong dislike from own team members? Just perhaps a sign when small individuals will succeed but teams will fail.”
