Recently, Bollywood actor and entrepreneur, Genelia Deshmukh was honoured by former Cabinet Minister Smriti Irani at the MEWA India 2025 conclave for her contribution to the plant-based food space.

Genelia Deshmukh's plant-based meat brand
Genelia co-founded Imagine Foods, a plant-based meat brand with her husband, Riteish Deshmukh in 2020 to promote sustainable living.
Imagine Foods offers plant-based meat alternatives that combine taste and sustainability, enabling consumers to enjoy their favourite foods while decreasing their environmental footprint.
Currently, the 3-day conclave is ongoing in Mumbai to discuss sustainability and conscious innovation.
At the event Genelia Deshmukh said, “At Imagine Foods, we believe that great food shouldn’t come at the cost of the planet. Our goal is to provide delicious, nutritious, and sustainable alternatives that let people enjoy the flavours they love while making a positive impact. Recently, Genelia’s Imagine Foods collaborated with Starbucks India to introduce a new plant-based meat menu.
