Mohak Nahta, Indian-origin CEO of US-based visa startup Atlys, confirmed on Linkedin that he would give free visas to all Indians despite Neeraj Chopra winning silver instead of gold at the Paris Olympics.

In his LinkedIn post, Nahta wrote, “It might not be the colour of the medal but our spirit that shines. I’m continuing our original offer of free visas for all Indians today. People who commented with emails on my earlier posts will receive instructions from Atlys on how to redeem this offer shortly. Proudly Indian, Mohak.”

Nahta had promised free visas if Chopra won gold at the Olympics, but Chopra won silver in the men's javelin throw with a best throw of 89.45 meters. Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem claimed gold with a throw of 92.97 meters.

Social Media Reaction:

Several LinkedIn users appreciated Mohak Nahta, CEO of Atlys, for fulfilling his promise of free visas even after Neeraj Chopra’s silver medal win. Some users also reported issues when booking their free visas.

One user wrote, "Dear Mohak Nahta Thanks for playing with our emotions and hearty congratulations for the marketing success of your application. We all have wasted a whole day yesterday hoping to get the so called “Free visa” but none of us could succeed because it was all a false promise.
Yesterday when I have submitted all the valid documentation and was trying to submit the visa application the error says “Invalid flight tickets, the embassy won’t approve the application” and I was unable to submit the application. But today in the morning I was able to go to the payment page. How did my invalid flight tickets from last night became valid now.
You have gained the attention to your application but lost faith of lot of people who might never go back to your application. I would never recommend anyone to apply visa from Atlys and would not do it myself as well.
Thanks for the awakening. I would not believe any such fame promises in the future."

Another user commented, "Thankyou for keeping the promise. However it looks like there is some trouble with the website as the landing pages are not loading completely. I hope to finish the application form I started filling before the deadline. :)"
