Camikara 3YO, produced by publicly-listed Piccadily Agro Industries Limited, has become the first and only Indian rum to win a Gold Medal at the Rum & Cachaça Masters Awards 2025, held in London.

About Camikara 3YO

India’s first-ever pure cane juice aged rum, Camikara, is crafted in the Rhum Agricole style without molasses, artificial colours, sugar, or additives. The competition, organised by The Spirits Business, is a globally renowned blind-tasting event exclusively for rum and cachaça products.

Shalini Sharma, Head of Marketing at Piccadily Agro Industries, said the win is an indication to the world that Indian spirits are ready to compete globally.

"There was a time when Indian rum didn’t feature in global conversations around premium spirits," said Shalini Sharma. "This win is not just a medal, it's a moment of pride for India. Camikara was born out of a belief that India could create world-class spirits rooted in its own land and legacy," she added.

An Indian rum receiving global recognition challenges the perception of the native rum as cheap and molasses-based.

About the company

Haryana-based Piccadily Agro Industries Limited trades on the Bombay Stock Exchange under ticker PICCADIL (530305), operating its distillery and sugar business segments from its 168-acre facility in Indri.

The company became popular in 2022 as an Indri single malt whisky brand, quickly becoming the fastest-growing single malt whisky brand in 2024.

Camikara is named after the Sanskrit word for 'liquid gold'.

The Rum & Cachaça Masters 2025 edition saw record entries from leading rum-producing countries, making the competition particularly competitive this year.
