Bengaluru Startup DriveU Offers On-demand Drivers For After-Parties, Shopping, and Meetings
DriveU, a leading on-demand driver service platform, founded by Rahm Shastry, Amulmeet Chadha, and Ashok Shastry, has recently closed FY25 with a Gross Platform Revenue over Rs 110 crore.
DriveU functions as a service that provides professional drivers for hire. They help in activities like outstation travel and even mid-day shopping. Additionally, the platform provides doorstep car wash services.
According to its latest press release, the company reported robust growth across revenue and profitability as well as margin improvement and customer trust.
DRIVEU’S KEY FINANCIALS
- The on-demand driver service platform recorded a Gross Platform Revenue of Rs 111.86 crore. This is a 22% increase from Rs 91.62 in FY24.
- Its net operating revenue grew to Rs 28.88 crore, up from Rs 24.50 crore in the previous year.
- DriveU’s EBITDA improved to Rs 1.74 crore from Rs 1.08 crore.
- Profit After Tax (PAT) increased to Rs 1.73 crore in FY25 from rom Rs 0.11 crore in FY24.
- Owing to strategic investments in marketing and employee benefits, total investments grew to Rs 27.82 crore.
- Employee benefits expenses also grew by 15% year-on-year. Additionally, marketing spends zoomed by 74%. This displays DriveU’s inclination towards customer acquisition, brand building, and platform-led growth.
“FY25 marks a milestone year for DriveU, with our team delivering one of the strongest performances in our history. The strong PAT growth underscores the scalability of our model and the trust that the customers have placed with us. With over 1 Lakh background verified driver partners, we have now served over 1 Million car owners,” DriveU’s co-founder and CEO Rahm Shastry stated in the press release.
“Our focus on improving driver partner earnings and experience continues to increase the fulfillment rate, with our full-time drivers routinely earning between Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000 per month,” he added.
REASONS FOR GROWTH
According to DriveU, its consistent growth is the result of increased traction in use cases such as consumers booking after-party drops, commute, outstation travel and running errands such as shopping, hospital visits, and business meetings drives.
The press release also stated that DriveU is now employing Generative AI at scale to help better the experience of both the drivers and the customers.
