After Donald Trump’s return as the U.S. president, his close ally and the world’s richest man, Elon Musk has expanded his influence over the federal government through DOGE. The initiative serves to enhance U.S. federal operations by applying technology.
Recently, it has raised concerns about national security and accountability for recruiting very young engineers.
DOGE team's members revealed
Musk's DOGE team consists of six young men aged 19 to 24, with no prior experience in government work.
Recently, one of the six engineers of DOGE, 22-year-old Indian-American engineer Akash Bobba, has hit the headlines. An alumnus of the reputable Management, Entrepreneurship, and Technology (MET) program at the University of California, Berkeley, Bobba has emerged as a key figure in DOGE.
The other team members are Luke Farritor, Edward Coristine, Gautier Cole Killian, Gavin Kliger, and Ethan Shaotran.
According to The Telegraph, during his 2021 graduation, Bobba encouraged his classmates to "seek discomfort."
"We live in an age where simplicity reigns supreme, where 30-second TikToks and 280-character tweets come to define our identities," the young engineer said. "This increasing willingness to simplify even the most complex narratives into sensational tidbits perpetuates misinformation and in the process divides the communities, families, and relationships we cherish. What's the solution, you might ask? Seek discomfort."
Incidentally, when the identities of DOGE members were first revealed, Elon Musk appeared to be furious and wrote on platform X, "You have committed a crime". This post was removed later and the account that disclosed the six names was suspended.
The Tesla boss later shared it was "time to confess" that the "media reports saying that @DOGE has some of world's best software engineers are in fact true."
