Blinkit CEO’s appointment

The board of the company has appointed Albinder Singh Dhindsa, who is the current CEO of Blinkit, as the new Group CEO to manage the day-to-day activities of the company as Eternal embarks on the next chapter of its growth journey.

In a letter to shareholders explaining his reasoning, Deepinder Goyal wrote that the decision is based on a desire to pursue creative and experimental projects that are not bound by the rules of a publicly listed company.

What Goyal had to say?

“Of late, I have found myself drawn to a set of new ideas that involve significantly higher-risk exploration and experimentation. These are the kinds of ideas that are better pursued outside a public company like Eternal,” he wrote

Deepinder Goyal, who will remain on the company’s board as Vice Chairman (subject to shareholder approval), said that the change in leadership is meant to help Eternal sharpen its focus and governance as it scales.

“He has the DNA of a battle-hardened founder and his ability to execute far exceeds mine. He is more than capable of leading Eternal as Group CEO,” Goyal said.

This comes as Eternal is registering strong financials, with the latest quarterly earnings showing strong year-over-year growth in its various operations, particularly in quick commerce and food delivery.
