Blinkit is celebrating the first anniversary of its ambulance service, which was launched a year ago in Gurugram, Haryana, with a fleet of just five ambulances. The service has since expanded to 25 ambulances across select locations in the Delhi NCR region. Highlighting the milestone in a post on the social media platform X, Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa lauded the company’s operations success as a major milestone.

Blinkit Completes One Year of Ambulance Service in Delhi NCR

Quick commerce platform Blinkit has marked one year of operating its ambulance service, an initiative that began in Gurugram with the objective of delivering emergency medical assistance faster during critical moments.

Reflecting on the journey, Blinkit founder and CEO Albinder Dhindsa said in a post on social media platform X,

“A year ago on this day, we started the Blinkit Ambulance service in Gurugram with a simple intent, to see if we could make emergency medical help reach people faster, when every minute counts.”

Launched initially with a fleet of 5 ambulances, the service entered what Dhindsa described as “uncomfortable territory,” given the complexity and high stakes involved in emergency care.

Over the past year, the initiative has scaled steadily while maintaining a strong focus on training and operational readiness.

According to Dhindsa, the ambulance team has handled more than 4,200 cases, including 1,810 time-sensitive medical emergencies.

Blinkit now operates 25 ambulances across most parts of Gurugram and Manesar, as well as select areas of Delhi, including Lajpat Nagar, Malviya Nagar, Patel Nagar, Dwarka, and Greater Kailash.

The ambulances reached patients within 10 minutes in 87% of cases.

Highlighting the emphasis on human capability, Dhindsa further said,

“We learned that we would have to invest massively in training paramedics. It requires infrastructure, investment, and constant review, especially when decisions need to be made in seconds, often with incomplete information.

We also learned that expanding responsibly sometimes means saying no to moving too fast and to launching areas or cities before systems are ready.

We’re still early in this journey. We’ll keep expanding carefully, investing deeply in training, and work towards building a world-class ambulance service.”

He added that Blinkit remains in the early stages of building the service and will continue to invest deeply in training and infrastructure to create a world-class ambulance network.

About Blinkit Ambulance

The Blinkit Ambulance Service is an emergency healthcare initiative launched to reduce emergency response times.

Introduced in Gurugram in 2024, the service was designed to explore how operational efficiency, trained manpower, and technology-led coordination could improve access to timely medical assistance in urban areas.

Initially began with a small fleet and now has steadily expanded across Gurugram, Manesar, and select parts of Delhi NCR.

The service focuses on rapid response, with a strong emphasis on paramedic training, on-ground preparedness, and decision-making under pressure.

Paramedics deployed through the Blinkit Academy undergo structured training to handle time-sensitive emergencies with accuracy and care.

As the initiative continues to evolve, Blinkit remains focused on responsible expansion, deep investment in training, and the long-term goal of creating a world-class emergency response system.
