These 2 Childhood Friends Started a Unique Gifting Venture With Just 40k Investment And Recorded a Turnover of Rs 3 Cr in FY22

Fluorescent Studios is a Pune-based online studio that specializes in creating bespoke gift boxes for various occasions. The studio was founded and conceptualized in April 2019 by Namrata Kulkarni and Pradnya Sane, childhood best friends and art lovers who wanted to work together and create a niche for themselves in the creative field. Their love for gifting with a personal touch inspired them to establish Fluorescent Studios with a mission to spread love through personal gifts.

Namrata and Pradnya’s aim is to provide a personal, purposeful, and seamless gifting experience that encourages love and gives people a memorable and unique experience. They offer beautifully packed gift boxes that cater to different occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and festivals. Their pre-curated themed gift boxes like Avengers Assemble, 90’s gift boxes, and Korean-themed gift boxes for Kpop and K-drama fans are a hit among customers.

Apart from the pre-curated boxes, Fluorescent Studios has a section on their website called “Gift it your way” where customers can select products as per the receiver’s preferences. The studio also curates gifts as per budget and requirements for bulk orders with doorstep delivery options. Namrata comes from a UX background and plays a major role in building brand guidelines and marketing. Pradnya, with good communication and organizational skills, dons different hats at different times. Together, they work towards their goal of making people smile and feel special with their thoughtfully curated gift boxes.

In a conversation with Startup Pedia, Pradnya Sane, the Founder, highlights the need and increased demand for gifting and says, There is a lot that we still have to explore in the gifting market. In the coming year, we will be focusing on introducing individual product services along with focusing on creating a separate gifting platform for internal corporate communications. Gifting has been a long-lived tradition, but only now it has seen huge demand and customisation, and that is where we come in.

Being a bootstrap startup, Fluorescent Studios has come a long way since its initial days. From an initial self-investment of 40k to revenue of 3 crores in the financial year 2022 without any external investment, the company has worked with 55+ companies to make their gifting fun and hassle-free. 

They have delivered around 25,000+ gift boxes in 10 countries across the globe. Fluorescent Studios has bagged many prominent clients in its client list, like Lego, Hayu, Mindtickle, Cimpress India, Thoughtworks, Bizongo, Moengage, Meesho, Godrej, and many more.
