Available on the iOS App Store and the Android Play Store, ChooseApp has officially partnered with national and regional service providers like Uber, Ola, Gozo, Meru, Rapido, Namma Yatri, Meru, BluSmart, Yatri Sathi, Yaary, Baayu, MyTaxiIndia, and QuickRide. 

Under its parent company NVS Choose Cabs India Private Limited, ChooseApp has partnered with ONDC to create a bigger network of aggregator partners.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Shyameli Dutta, Nishant Sapkale, and Vinita Nair are a trio of friends and seasoned media professionals who run a production house called Box Office Entertainment.

They have more than a decade of experience in the realms of television commercials, online advertisements, and national TV shows.

As producers running on a strict budget, they would often struggle to choose an affordable cab service while traveling to different cities for projects. Vinita, Shyameli, and Nishant kept oscillating between different apps but that didn’t help.

In an exclusive interview with Startup Pedia, Nishant Sapkale says, “Box Office Entertainment has a large crew that we travel with for every shoot that happens. Beyond adhering to budgets, we are also responsible for everyone’s well-being during travels. But it’s kind of challenging to gauge the reliability of cab services, as reviews vary widely between cities.”

This was when the founders grabbed onto the insight that there was a need for a platform that allowed users to explore and choose the most suitable cab service for their needs.

“We talked to friends and other people in our network, this problem was a real one. Everyone agreed that having a single platform to compare prices, see all available ride-hailing apps in the city — not just the most popular ones —  and select the most affordable cab service or local taxis would help a lot,” says Shyameli.

Bringing together a small tech team, Shyameli, Nishant, and Vinita have recently launched ChooseApp. It is now live across India.

SIMPLIFYING MOBILITY FOR INDIA

ChooseApp’s user journey is quite simple.

A new user has to sign up on the app and they'll instantly get redirected to the home page. 

Now, just like any other ride-hailing app, they enter their current location and their destination. 

What happens next is something that streamlines the entire cab booking process. 

From the popular (and not-so-popular) ride-hailing apps to the local airport taxis and inter-city cabs, everything is displayed in one place. Auto and bike services are also added here. 

The user can now see the wait times and the real-time fares every service is offering for the same destination, compare in one simple glance, and choose the lowest fare and the preferred wait time.

By clicking on one service, the user can book the ride on ChooseApp itself.

This saves both time and money. 

Speaking of money, users can also see their total savings at the end of each month on a separate tab. 

Vinita says, “Even saving just Rs 60 every day for someone who commutes to the office regularly can be a game changer.”

Another benefit that users can get out of ChooseApp is to avoid peak prices. While one ride-hailing service might display peak prices at one time, others won't. So users can easily pick the lowest fare available.

ChooseApp will solve the need for cheap outstation cabs, cheap intercity cabs, cheap airport taxis, and local taxis by displaying all options for a customer to pick from. 

The app has a rating system as well. It aggregates user reviews from various sources, like Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and other review websites. 

Eventually, as ChooseApp will gain traction, it'll have its own reviews and ratings. 

The founders have envisioned ChooseApp as a utility platform that will smoothen the nation's cab booking experience and enable people to choose cost-effective options every single day. 

The app can be downloaded anywhere in India and works across the country from Arunachal Pradesh to Kanyakumari.

LOOKING AHEAD

ChooseApp is on its way to redefining urban mobility with its user-centric features. But Nishant, Vinita, and Shyameli have bigger plans.

ChooseApp, in the next two to three months, will become a utility platform focusing on the verticals of courier, logistics, medicine, and quick commerce. The partner integrations are in progress.

The same principles of enabling users to conveniently compare prices and ETAs in real-time and choose the best deal for themselves every single time will apply here as well.

ChooseApp has also started exploring international borders—its Dubai launch is slated for six months from now.
