Diwali just wrapped up and has sparked a new chapter for e-commerce stores.

Online shopping reached an all-time high this festive season. And by 'all-time high,' we mean it recorded total sales of nearly Rs 1 lakh crore, as reported by Economic Times.

A significant share of these orders were placed last minute by shoppers making delivery timelines, a differentiating factor this festive season.

Just eighteen months ago, such speedy delivery options were almost inaccessible for most e-commerce sellers, D2C brands, and regional businesses. Where they did exist, high surcharges usually made them impractical for both sellers and customers.

Shipyaari, headquartered in Mumbai, a leading SaaS solutions provider and shipping and logistics enabler, changed this narrative. With its new service called Shipyaari Sprint, the company made same-day and next-day delivery a standard rather than an exception.

Shipyaari Sprint extended its reach across 40+ Indian cities, enabling e-commerce sellers, D2C brands, and retail businesses to offer same-day and next-day deliveries this festive season.

Industries such as Food & Beverages, Gifting, Fashion & Apparel, Mobile & Accessories, and Home Decor experienced a surge in last-minute orders. With a 99% delivery ratio, Shipyaari Sprint helped businesses ensure that these orders reached customers right on time.

In a conversation with Startup Pedia, Vishal Totla, Co-founder of Shipyaari said “This Diwali season, Shipyaari successfully met all delivery promises, even with high demand, thanks to our strong network of dedicated routes and our ability to reach the highest number of pincodes and cities across India. With plans to expand to all Tier 1 cities by the end of the financial year, we’re excited to bring this level of service to even more people and businesses, helping them meet their customers’ needs with speed and reliability.”

What Challenges Did Shipyaari Sprint Address?

For e-commerce brands, faster deliveries are about more than just customer satisfaction. They create a ripple effect that drives real business value.

Long delivery timelines are a leading cause of abandoned carts and order cancellations, with customers often opting for other brands when faced with extended waits.

Shipyaari Sprint directly addressed this by reducing the window between order placement and fulfillment, which significantly decreases abandoned carts, order cancellations, and the associated Return to Origin (RTO) rates - one of the biggest pain points for e-commerce sellers.

Shipyaari Sprint made speed its focus this festive season, offering same-day and next-day delivery supported by timely pickups, continuous monitoring, real-time data analysis, strategic routing, and dedicated teams for seamless service.

As fast delivery took precedence over brand loyalty, emerging brands gained an equal opportunity to compete, leveling the playing field for all.

The changing consumer mindset and the need for businesses to deliver have been captured in Shipyaari’s recent ad campaign:

“Ye Naya India hai, yeh speed ke liye adjust nahi karega”

The common man in India has had a reputation for adjusting. In fact, the older generation might’ve even glorified the ability to compromise and settle for less.

But the new India is not willing to adjust, especially for order deliveries.

This 3-film ad campaign highlights the ease of quick deliveries, why it should become the standard rather than an exception, and why Indians are more than just ready for them.

In line with this, Neha Bagchi (Director, Marketing) told Startup Pedia, “Indians today aren’t just chasing value—they’re chasing better experiences. Exposure to higher global standards has reshaped expectations, making us less tolerant to anything subpar. With Sprint, we’ve shifted the spotlight to these redefined expectations and how we can elevate every delivery interaction. It’s about delivering more than just speed; it’s about ensuring that convenience and quality shape every customer experience.”

Through Shipyaari Sprint, e-commerce sellers were finally able to turn customer frustrations and complaints about slow order fulfillment into positive opportunities this Diwali.

Looking ahead

The SaaS-based logistics solutions provider, Shipyaari, is working towards expanding Sprint beyond the 40+ Indian cities it is currently servicing. The ultimate vision is to ace the 30-hour delivery timeline for businesses and brands.

Nayaan Ratandhayara, Co-founder and CEO of Shipyaari, told Startup Pedia, “With Shipyaari Sprint, we are on a mission to redefine express logistics by setting new benchmarks for speed and reliability. We envision a future where a 30-hour delivery from one corner of India to another becomes the norm, empowering e-commerce businesses to meet and exceed customer expectations faster than ever before. By pushing the boundaries of logistical excellence, we are not just meeting the demands of today’s India, but are shaping the future of e-commerce in India.”
