For the past few years, AI has promised to revolutionise how businesses operate. Companies rushed to adopt AI automation, hoping for efficiency, smarter workflows, and cost savings.

However, the AI technology landscape is chaotic. A simple search for AI business tools yields hundreds of platforms, each claiming to be the best. Some demand costly subscriptions, others showcase misleading demos, and many fail to deliver on their promises.

For businesses and professionals, it’s overwhelming. And for non-technical users, the struggle is even worse. Which AI tools actually work? How do you test AI tools without paying upfront? And how do you avoid investing in platforms that overpromise but underdeliver?

That’s exactly the problem ActionAgents, an Ahmedabad-based AI agents platform, is solving.

How ActionAgents Was Launched:

ActionAgents was launched by ActionLabs.ai, an Ahmedabad-based tech startup that has been helping businesses integrate AI-driven solutions into their operations for the past few years.

While serving hundreds of clients, the startup observed a recurring challenge: "Clients would ask me, 'Which AI tool should I use?' And there was no single place to compare and test them," recalled Jay, the founder of ActionAgents.co, in an exclusive interview with Startup Pedia.

To address this challenge, the Ahmedabad-based tech startup initially launched an AI directory, a platform listing hundreds of AI-powered tools across different industries. The goal was to help businesses discover and compare AI tools easily.

However, they soon realised the flaws in the system. “Although users could compare multiple AI tools for any task, our platform would simply redirect them to respective AI tools, leading to new challenges such as costly subscriptions, underwhelming performance, and complexity—especially for non-technical users,” said the founder of ActionAgents.

This realisation led to the creation of ActionAgents, a platform by ActionLabs.ai that enables businesses and individuals to discover and hire AI agents through a single, affordable, and reliable destination.

“Just like you hire a freelancer to build your website or write your resume, on ActionAgents, you can hire AI agents to get your job done—faster, at a lower cost, and with better efficiency,” said Ahmedabad-based entrepreneur Jay.

Making AI Tools Easy to Use and Affordable:

Launched in January this year, ActionAgents offers over 50 AI agents for hire, including a WhatsApp chat analyser, a latest news aggregator, a business name generator, a gift finder, trip planner, resume writer, ATS resume checker, cover letter generator, a website builder, and more.

Instead of a fixed upfront subscription model, the AI platform offers free credits to try AI agents, with a flexible option to pay-per-task model, which makes it very effective for end users.

“This payment model makes sense because nobody wants to pay $50 for an AI tool they might use only once. The pay-per-task model solves this problem,” said the founder of ActionAgents.

3,000+ Users in 8 Weeks—Without Spending a Rupee on Marketing:

Within just two months, this Ahmedabad-based AI platform has acquired over 3,000 users, with 80-100 new signups, and 200–250 tasks are executed daily by AI agents for humans.

With users from India, the US, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East, ActionAgents has gained global traction, proving the rising demand for AI-powered automation.

“All of this happened without spending a single rupee on marketing. The growth has been entirely organic and driven by word of mouth,” said the Ahmedabad entrepreneur.

Launched with an initial investment of ₹15-20 lakh, ActionAgents is steadily growing its user base, with businesses and individuals hiring AI agents based on their specific needs. The platform is already generating consistent revenue as adoption continues to rise.

Scaling to 1 Million Users & Opening the Platform to Developers:

Over the next six months, ActionAgents aims to reach 10,000+ users, and within two years, it plans to acquire 500,000 to 1 million users.

Additionally, ActionAgents is preparing to open up the platform for developers, allowing them to build and launch their own AI agents. This move will empower individual developers and software companies to generate recurring revenue by deploying and monetizing their agents directly on the platform

“Our vision is to become the ‘Google Play Store’ for AI, where developers can build, monetize, and sell their AI-powered agents, creating an ecosystem of innovation,” said the founders of ActionAgents.

With a very young and dynamic team of AI engineers and marketers, including Jash Jasani, Dev Patel, Deepali, and others, ActionAgents is shaping how the future of work looks like.

From a Humble Background to Bootstrapping an AI Revolution:

The journey of Ahmedabad-based entrepreneur Jay has been anything but easy. Coming from a humble family, his father was a rickshaw driver, and his mother was a tailor. To make ends meet, his father worked extra hours while his mother trained other women in tailoring.

However, his parents valued education. Despite financial struggles and relatives mocking them for choosing an English-medium school, they ensured Jay received a good education.

"There were days when we weren’t sure how we’d pay the next school fee. But my parents never let financial struggles become an excuse," recalled Jay in the Startup Pedia interview.

The hardships taught him resilience, adaptability, and financial independence—values that later defined his tech startup journey.

"My mother didn’t just teach tailoring—she trained over 5,000 women, helping them start home-based businesses," Jay shared. "She built a small entrepreneurial ecosystem long before I even understood the word ‘startup.’"

Since college, Jay experimented with multiple businesses, Campus Click, Tailor Zone, and PerksVilla, each teaching him valuable lessons. Eventually, he found success with his profitable tech startup, ActionAgents.co.

Now, bootstrapping his vision for the AI Agents platform, ActionAgents, he aims to revolutionize the AI industry.
