A young woman, apparently from a well-off family background, has become viral on social media for selling 'Pani-Puri' on the streets of New Delhi. Her small business of pani-puri stalls is named 'Delhi Pani Puri'.
She appears to have recently graduated from school and has set up 4 stalls in the Rohini and Prashant Vihar regions of New Delhi since April 2024.
The woman shares updates about her entrepreneurial journey and day-to-day activities on her Instagram page 'Delhi Pani Puri'.
In one of her Instagram reels, she shares her aim to provide high-quality 'pani puris' with utmost hygiene to the customers. She has also posted demonstration videos to convey the same.
Speaking about personal challenges, she mentions that as a woman, it has always been difficult for her to pursue freedom and independence, as many relatives and friends questioned and ridiculed her ambitions.
She also believes that no profession is inherently low or highly reputable; its reputation depends on the perception of the person and reflects a lot about that person's character.
The young woman claims to have designed the logo and decor of the stalls herself and outsourced hiring to agencies to ease the burden.
Delhi Pani Puri is another addition to the rising trend of small vending and stall businesses, including B.tech Pani Puri Waali and 'Vada Pav Girl'. These small businesses don't necessarily require a large initial investment.
