Founded by Pritesh Mahajan, Jayesh Tope and Pushkaraj Salunke in January 2021, Revamp Moto is a Nashik-based modular electric vehicle startup.
Revamp Moto manufactures electric two-wheelers and has recently launched 'India's first transformable EV' - the RM Buddie 25.
During a discussion, founder Pritesh Mahajan told a publication that the aim of the RM Buddie 25 is to cater to people who are not just two-wheeler users but also people who are forever on the move and use their vehicles for a lot of purposes.
By transformable, Revamp Moto really meant transformable.
The RM Buddie 25 has a payload capacity of 120 kilograms. It is powered by an IP 67-rated smart battery management system. And also has a controller area network-enabled 48V, 25Ah lithium-ion battery pack.
On a single charge, the Buddie can travel for 70 km with a top speed of 25 km per hour.
It comes with easily swappable attachments like a child seat, saddle stay and saddle bags, insulated box, carrier, base plate and base rack.
The aim is to assist Indians in their 'jugaad.' A regular middle-class man multi-tasks all the time. He buys stuff from the market and also drops his kid at school.
For such varied uses, the Buddie has attachments that can be swapped and shifted in seconds.
Want to carry groceries? Use the saddlebags attachment. Have to pick up kid from school? Swap the saddlebag with a child seat.
The RM Buddie 25 is a CMVR (Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989)-exempted vehicle and doesn't use a licence or registration.
Through this, the startup wants to empower senior citizens and young teenagers alike to do their thing without being dependent on anyone.
The RM Buddie will be manufactured in a Bhiwandi facility.
The prices for RM Buddie 25 start at Rupees 66,999. Before commencing deliveries in April 2023, the startup will conduct numerous trials in multiple cities across the country.
Last year, the startup raised Rupees 1 crore from sharks Anupam Mittal and Aman Gupta. After the show, Ashneer Grover and Peeyush Bansal also put in Rupees 50 lakh each.
