Lucknow’s Arroon Prremi's early years were marked by adversity.
His father was a complicated man. Despite being a family man, he battled with alcoholism, which made Arroon’s life painful and challenging.
Desperate Arroon started selling posters and crackers during Diwali for his family.
“My father had a shop that he tried to earn a living from, but his addiction made it hard for him. Those were tough times for us. But, I was given a better education,” said the founder of Evaga Entertainment while narrating early life to Startup Pedia.
After graduating from Lucknow University, he searched for job opportunities in Lucknow and Delhi but his conditions still didn’t improve.
In 2011, he went to Bangalore with just Rs 500-700 in his pockets to find better jobs.
“There were days when I struggled to afford meals, relying on the generosity of a local Gurdwara for food. I would walk miles to save money,” said the founder of the Bangalore-based event management startup.
Despite hardships, he climbed huge ladders in less time. Finally, in 2015, he landed prominent positions with renowned companies like BYJU'S and Unacademy.
"I was earning so well that I would stay in five star hotels and had a driver. I was living a luxurious life that I never dreamt of when I was a child and had my own struggle due to my humble family background," said the Bangalore-based entrepreneur.
Despite unbelievable success, he wanted people to remember him for eternity. His grandfather's journey from refugee to respected figure in Lucknow became his inspiration.
Arroon Prremi's grandfather migrated from Pakistan during the partition era. He built a diverse career, starting with the Indian Railways and later transitioning to coaching actors in Mumbai. Eventually, he founded the Lucknow City Magazine.
His grandfather's reputation on national television and friendships with influential figures like Narayan Datt Tiwari (9th Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh), fueled Arroon's ambition to leave a similar mark on the world.
On Valentine’s Day 2024, Arroon told his wife he wanted to pursue entrepreneurship and leave his rich job behind.
It may have been bad news for some other wives, but for Arroon’s wife, it was good news on that romantic day.
“Because she knew that I have that zeal to pursue entrepreneurship and make an impact. If I had achieved so much in the corporate world, I would definitely achieve big in the journey of entrepreneurship,” said Evaga Entertainment founder, Arroon Prremi.
Ambitious Arroon embarked on his entrepreneurial journey, founding Evaga Entertainment with a Rs 2.5 lakh investment.
His Bangalore-based startup is an event management company catering to offline and online ventures, serving diverse markets and communities.
Offline- Evaga Entertainment aims to cater to various segments, including corporate events, social gatherings, and government functions. By leveraging his network and expertise, Arroon wanted to establish Evaga Entertainment as a leading player in the event management industry.
Simultaneously, Arroon created unique platforms to address specific needs within the market. One such initiative is the Evaga Global Startup Nexus, designed to support and empower startups in tier 1, 2 and 3 cities.
“To contribute to India's ascent as the third-largest economy, I firmly believe that fostering more entrepreneurship in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities is crucial,” believes the Bangalore based entrepreneur.
Recognising the untapped potential of regional fashion, the founder of Evaga Entertainment planned to revolutionise the industry by bringing fashion shows to smaller cities and highlighting their distinct styles and traditions.
Apart from offline endeavours, an online platform to streamline event planning and vendor selection is also in the pipeline for Evaga Entertainment.
By centralising a wide range of services and vendors, the Bangalore entrepreneur simplified the process of organising events.
“Although there are multiple companies and platforms providing such services, there is hardly any platform that provides all the services. Since, the event management industry is unorganized, I am also trying to make it organized and hassle free for customers to have celebrations and events,” said founder of Evaga Entertainment.
The plan ahead:
Evaga Entertainment's finances indicate a revenue of approximately Rs. 2 crore for FY2024-25.
With a focus on engaging corporates and government events, Evaga expects to reach the revenue target.
Arroon aims to generate employment opportunities for at least 100,000 individuals (direct and indirect employment), a commitment prominently displayed on his wall. Also, he wants to provide food for 100,000 animals- cows, dogs, and ants.
But more than anything, he wants to leave a lasting legacy beyond his lifetime.
