Hailing from Bihar, Dilkhush Kumar started off as a rickshaw puller and a vegetable vendor, but today he is the founder of a successful startup called RodBez. His company connects customers with taxi drivers for outstation travel of more than 50 km, with the aim to connect every village in Bihar with a taxi.

Despite being rejected during a job interview for being considered uneducated, Dilkhush never gave up on his dream. He learned to drive from his father, a bus driver, to earn money. With just a second-hand Tata Nano, he started RodBez, and within 6-7 months of its launch, his team was able to raise funds worth Rs 4 crore.

Dilkhush’s vision of connecting every village in Bihar with a taxi has attracted graduates from prestigious institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) and Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) to support his startup. Today, he not only provides employment to taxi drivers but also to many graduates from prestigious institutions.

His startup, RodBez, pays its drivers around Rs 55,000 to 60,000 per month, which is a significant remuneration considering their lives and circumstances. The platform claims to have already expanded its services from Patna to every village of the state in the first phase, with the second phase planned to connect city to city.

At a place where government jobs are considered to be the only stable option to success, Dilkhush defied every stereotype with his choices and resilience. He proved that determination, hard work, and a clear vision can overcome any obstacle and lead to success.
