A few days ago, Startup Pedia reported how a Bengaluru-based entrepreneur, Anuradha Tiwari, urged Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to create a public website that would entail details of all roads, highways, and construction projects.

Entrepreneur Anuradha Tiwari runs a content writing agency and grew popular last year because of her “Brahmin genes” post.

She raised concerns over the growing number of road accidents while contractors continue to earn massive profits. Citing that over 26,000 people have died on national highways in the first half of 2025 alone, she emphasized the urgent need for transparency and accountability.

A similar idea adapted by Union Minister

Just months after Bengaluru-based entrepreneur Anuradha Tiwari called for greater transparency in road construction, Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced a new initiative to display QR codes on highways.

Specifications given by Nitin Gadkari

This move aligns closely with her proposal. During a recent conference, Nitin Gadkari announced that all major roads in India would soon have a QR code with information on the project, including:

  • the contractor's name
  • the total expenditure incurred,
  • the CM of the state
  • officials and ministers who were involved
  • details maintenance firm.

The initiative seeks to make infrastructure construction transparent and accountable to the citizens. The details are quite similar to the suggestions made by Anuradha Tiwari.

Suggestions given by Anuradha Tiwari

She urged the creation of a public website that would show: -

  • Which contractor built road
  • Which babu approved it
  • Total cost & ministers involved
  • Firm responsible for maintenance

This announcement comes just weeks after Anuradha Tiwari’s viral post on X demanding a public website or QR-linked system to track road project details.

“If a ₹5 biscuit has all its details printed, why not a ₹100 crore road? she wrote on July 12. Her post gathered a positive response from netizens.

She also emphasised that lack of accountability often leads to poor quality roads and avoidable accidents, saying, “Contractors are becoming billionaires while people die on roads.”

With Nitin Gadkari’s latest announcement, many are calling it a “citizen-driven victory.”

Some netizens are lauding the relentless spirit to bring a change: “As I said earlier - Anuradha Didi is doing the opposition's work.”

Anuradha Tiwari took to social media to celebrate the development, writing, “Big Win! Nitin Gadkari ji is implementing my QR scan idea! This is just the start of accountability and transparency.”
