Karnataka CM writes to Azim Premji
Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has written to Wipro founder-chairman Azim Premji, seeking access to the tech giant’s campus to ease traffic congestion along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) corridor, particularly near Iblur junction.

As reported by MoneyControl, in a letter dated September 19, Siddaramaiah proposed a possibility of allowing limited vehicular movement through the Wipro campus, subject to mutually agreed terms and security considerations.
“Preliminary assessments by traffic and urban mobility experts suggest that such a measure could reduce congestion on adjoining stretches of the ORR by nearly 30 percent, especially during peak office hours”, the letter said.
The Karnataka CM urged Wipro to engage with government officials and work out a mutually acceptable plan at the earliest, stating that the initiative could significantly improve commuter experience and make the city transport more efficient and livable.
According to MoneyControl, CM Siddaramaiah admitted that severe traffic congestion during peak hours in the area has affected mobility, productivity, and the quality of day-to-day life.
The recent social media post by BlackBuck CEO Rajesh Yabaji, who said Bengaluru ORR’s poor road condition prompted him to move his office, has sparked outrage.
The Karnataka CM has held a high-level meeting with senior officials to inspect the road. ORR weekday traffic surged 45 per cent in June 2025 compared to last year.
