Gadkari said the ministry has now taken a stricter stand on work quality. While addressing the gathering, he stated, “Aur abhi humne bhi yeh approach apna liya hai ki jo kaam theek nahi karega usko thokenge.”
He stressed that his warning applies to everyone involved in national highway projects. He said, “Phir koi ho — na main chhodunga, na adhikaariyon ko chhodenge, na contractors ko chhodenge.”
Officials at the event said Gadkari has recently held firm discussions with a few contractors who were not meeting basic standards. They were reminded of the rules, and told that further neglect could invite action.
The minister also added during his speech that strict steps would follow against wrongdoing. His remark, “Jo badmaashi karega usko bata ke rakha hai ki mujhe jo dhyaan mein aaye main chhodunga nahi,” made his stand clear.
